The effectiveness of palmar (hand) and axillary (underarm) sweating treatment through ETS surgery depends on proper patient selection and surgical technique. Patients experiencing both palmar and axillary hyperhidrosis often find that addressing the hand sweating component provides significant relief for both areas simultaneously. This dual benefit occurs because the same thoracic sympathetic pathways control sweating in these regions. When the ETS procedure is performed for isolated palmar hyperhidrosis, Dr. Basseri clamps the nerves at levels T3 to T4. In the cases where the ETS procedure is performed for palmar and axillary hyperhidrosis, an additional clip at nerve T5 is applied. However, The Center for Hyperhidrosis does not perform the ETS procedure for isolated axillary hyperhidrosis.

Long-term results show sustained improvement in both palmar and axillary sweating in many cases, with patient satisfaction rates reflecting the comprehensive approach to treating multiple hyperhidrosis sites simultaneously.
